Art and Herbalism Classes (Homeschool) -2025 Fall Series – Outdoor Class
Come join your friends on an exciting journey into the world of natural plant medicine and create some fun art too!
In this class we will be learning about some local plant superpowers, crafting some seasonal remedies to take home, and creating some cool art. This class is an outdoor class, so we can enjoy the fall and snoop around at local medicine plants. Each class will be different, so join for one or join them all!
Details:
- Who: Ages 8-12 years (younger kids are welcome but must have a parent stay to help)
- When: September 30 12:30-2:30pm – Chokecherry Cough Syrup
- October 7 12:20-2:30pm – Elderberry Syrup
- October 14 12:30-2:30pm – Healing tea blends
- October 21 12:30-2:30pm – Herbal chest rub or pain/fever glycerite (TBD)
- Where: Fred John’s Park, Leduc AB
- Cost: $35 per week, or $120 per learner for all four classes!

Autumn Harvest Storage (Adult Workshop)
Are you looking for ways to preserve your autumn harvest? Have you ever wanted to learn the secrets of pressure canning, open kettle canning, dehydrating or fermenting? We will be looking at a variety of ways to preserve your harvest this fall in this 3.5 hour adult workshop. This is a hands on workshop and at the end you will feel more confident storing and preserving your harvest to enjoy all winter long. You will take home a jar or two of delicious goods made by you. Possible items to be preserved in this class include fermented root vegetables, raw pack root vegetables, farm raised chicken bone broth, (TBD opinions welcome!)

Where: 48427 Range Road 222, Camrose County (30 minutes in any direction from Sherwood Park, Camrose, Tofield, Leduc, Beaumont, and Wetaskiwin!)
Cost: $65 Per participant limit of 5 participants

Fire Cider (Adult Workshop)
Back by popular demand! Fire Cider! Grab a friend and come learn the secrets of the hot and spicy. This is a hands on workshop where participants will chop, shred, and craft their own jar of nourishing, and immune boosting fire cider to take home. All ingredients, jar, and recipe provided. This class runs 2.5-3hours in length and is a lot of fun! Please email me with any questions. Sarah@wild-bunch.ca.

ABOUT ME: My name is Sarah Shandera. I am a local homeschool mom to 6, an author, artist, creator, bee keeper, and dabbler in natural medicine. I have a Bachelor of Science, and grew up immersed in nature. My dad was a horticulturalist and instructor of entomology at Olds College, so being a science geek comes naturally to me! My husband is a certified Herbalist and we have been looking to wild plants for our medicine and nourishment for several years. I have been an children’s educator for 28 years, including my own children, and teaching is one of my favourite things to do! I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you in these fun, adventuresome classes!
